Liz's Photo Album

December 2006

Penny has become quite the modern artist. Here, she carefully drips water from an old toothbrush onto her AquaDoodle canvas. Watch out, Jackson Pollack!

The people across the street are nothing if not enthusiastic.

Birthday presents for Matt and Liz from Karen! Is Penny disappointed that there are no presents for her? Not after we let her have the bubble wrap out of one of them!

After going all the way to San Antonio for new shoes, I discovered a SAS shoes outlet here in Williamsburg. They even have 5-cent popcorn and 10-cent Cokes, like at the San Antone factory!

More artistry: At the top of the mat is Superman's face: A mouth, two eyes, and a nose. I know it's Superman because she told me so. The nose is all blobby looking because that's where she drew the cape, also.

Not our Christmas card picture.

Penny talking to Jess on the phone.

I adore this outfit. I especially love that the tights say 'Adorable' across the butt.

Justin and Dave are inaugurated into the Honorable Order of Cookie-Dough Stirrers.

Jeremy making moon cookies and pretending my mom is not wandering around with the camera.

Justin realizing that the cookie he's currently making will probably not fit on the cookie sheet.

Dave is smiling.

It was Elizabeth's first moon cookie party, somehow. She pronounced it 'theraputic.'

Matt helps Dave stir the second batch.

KT and Dave.

Jess and Penny had a great time while the rest of us were making cookies.

Hurry up, Penny, it's Jess's turn!

WHEE!

Penny likes spaghetti. I'm beginning to think Penny's appreciation for food has less to do with its taste than its mess-to-nutrition ratio.

Penny puts some bubbles on Ray-Ray's cheek.

Penny and Ray-Ray pretend to be puppies. Because dogs carry things in their mouths, you see.

Daycare holiday show. I'm still awed by the height differences. See below for movies!

Savannah ('Nana') and her grandmother

The preschool class did selections from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and dressed up like Whos.

All the Whos down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot.

Here's a switch: Santa sitting on someone else's lap! This is the seasonal art board in Penny's classroom. I don't know who thought that shade of green paint for the walls was a good idea.

My Uncle John and Aunt Laura... Don't ask about the Easter basket. I think it only made sense to Penny and my dad.

Boy is someone going to get a big surprise this Christmas!

Gramma Jill didn't need to send any presents! Just a box full of packing popcorn!

Jess wants to know where the caps are for her new markers.

Marker caps? What marker caps? See my scary monster fingernails, Jeremy?

Finally, it's Christmas! What's in this stocking?

Eatin' M&Ms and reading a book!

Say, what else is in this stocking thing?

It is not a scary movie. I think Penny just likes the blanket.

Grampa and Gramma Duck sent Penny her very own camera! She took to it like a duck to water.

She took pictures of her toys, her books, the TV, the Christmas tree, her favorite ornaments on the tree...

Oh, and a snap or two of Mom and Dad.
(see movie below)

Penny got so many presents for Christmas that she didn't open them all. We've been opening 2 a night since Christmas, and she's still got half a dozen to go. She seems to enjoy them more this way, really.

She isn't really sure about how to play, but she sure thinks the hopscotch mat is fun!
