Liz's Photo Album

March 2007

I play pool with friends on Thursdays at lunch. I'm really bad at it, but it's fun.

Justin, on the other hand, is really good.

Funny how everyone looks very serious when they're lining up a shot.

Fun zwoopy shots!

Line 'er up.

Setting up the trick shot.

In theory, all six balls are supposed to sink. In practice... Well, he got one of them.

Dropping eight

Penny asked me to make a squirrel for her out of Play-Doh. And a tree.

She liked them so much, she asked for more. And gave them kisses.

She made Matt make a few for her, too.

Matt lives the good life, lounging about with beautiful girls feeding him grapes... Though one of the girls insists on keeping most of the grapes for herself.

Penny has put the Monkey and the Weasel song together with the tune her jack-in-the-box plays. Sometimes, she'll even sing it herself. (See movies, below.)

Grandma and Grandpa have the fabulous princess dress-up clothes!

But underneath, it's still the same silly Penny.

OBX Scrapbook weekend! Whoo!

Ever wonder what thirteen women's worth of scrapbooking supplies looks like?

By the time I'd finished Saturday night, I'd made myself this lovely lei out of discarded tape backing.

Gorgeous sunset.
(picture shamelessly stolen from Elizabeth)

It's a crop! It's a pyjama party! It's both!

Taking stock.

Late night scrapping.

Heather is sooooooo tired.

This year's theme was to write down all the best quotes from our silliness. It's a little disturbing how many of these came out of my mouth.

It seemed wrong to go to the beach and not, you know, go to the beach. For my more artsy shots, see my flickr set.

The scrapbooking divas. The bags under our eyes from lack of sleep are sexy, dammit.

Obviously, I needed a pool-shooting shot of Matt, too!

What kind of hot dog?

This made me giggle, considering the two/too substitution. I'm a dork, I know.

Matt's a little blurry, but I kept this picture because the big St. Baldrick's banner is pretty readable.

Getting strapped in.

What's that in your hand, Matt...?

Wow, that's a lot of hair.

There's a nice donation for Locks of Love.

And now the shearing.

Oo, it tickles!

Don't miss any spots!

Nearly there!

Ta-daa! All shorn, and $850 raised for the kids!

Matt's head in profile. With Peep.

Penny was utterly un-traumatized. She was just excited to have an excuse to visit Jess.

The girls serve up dinner.

Two princesses, or three?

Jess didn't seem bothered by Uncle Matt's transformation, either. I think someone's been fibbing to us about kids' sensitivities to hair.

Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!

Justin watches in horror as Penny downs half a mocha milkshake.

A beautiful milk mustache.

Fun with perspective: It looks like Kevin is about to eat Matt's head.

Penny and Jess curled up on the couch to watch Madagascar.

I dare you to look at this and not have an, 'Awwwww,' reaction.

Of course, with all the excitement, Penny really did fall asleep after we got home.

Penny's not usually a snuggly child, but I found this casual contact to be very sweet.

We have acquired a cat. His name is Ziggy. He is beautiful, and enormous, and a big ol' coward.

Stacking blocks is for sissies. If you want a real challenge, stack old-fashioned wooden spools.

Maybe Penny will grow up to be an architect. In, say, Pisa.

Penny also found this little wooden village in her toy drawer. It was mine when I was little. And Mom accuses me of being a packrat.

Welcome to Pennytown!
(see movies below)

I mentioned that Ziggy was enormous, right?

Penny's first trip to the dentist! The dentist has the most awesome kids' waiting room ever. Penny is not hiding, by the way; she's playing with the sand table.

The dentist is going to count my teeth! (She chickened out when she saw them cleaning my teeth, though.)

Ladybug Bridge
(That's Ray-Ray's hand.)

What preschoolers look like to ladybugs.

Ms. Melissa tries to keep Penny and Ray-Ray from squashing the ladybug with their fascination.

Friendly little ladybug!

'It tickles!'

Penny only let the ladybug crawl on her the once. Ray-Ray, however, loved it, but had to be restrained from trying to pick it up in a pincer grip.

Much to the ladybug's relief, they've moved on to playing cars.

Hmm, something is missing from this Supergirl outfit...

Red boots! Now I'm Supergirl! Let's go fight some robots!
